“Bega Valley Archers Big Weekend”

Members of the club attended a workshop with the Wyndham Weavers on Saturday to learn the art of weaving with natural fibres.
The weaving group were inspired by traditional archery quivers and some time ago sought information from club archers.
The result was four outstanding archery quivers woven from natural fibres of flax and water reed.
The Bega Valley Archers purchased the quivers and will use them in demonstrations at the upcoming Youth and Seniors week activities.
The next combined project for the weavers / club members is a traditional natural fibre coiled target.
Members learned the bow strings from natural fibre and the basics techniques required to construct quivers. It was a fascinating experience.
The fun continued on Sunday when the clubmembers held the first shoot on their newly constructed 10 target field archery course.
Members found the new course a challenge and really enjoyed the new archery facility.
Bega Valley Archers is going from strength to strength. The next development will be a purpose storage facility to store the increasing club resources.”
